WATER SUPPLIER ADVOCATE
Water Industry Capability Teams
Helping companies work together to tackle opportunities and grow
capabilities
Delivered in partnership with:
Australian water firms are key to delivering the success that Australia has enjoyed in managing
water scarcity and variability. They are renowned for their innovation, efficiency and capability. In
recognition of the important role Australian water firms play in securing our future water supply,
the Water Supplier Advocate, Mr Bob Herbert, is working with waterAUSTRALIA to establish
Water Industry Capability Teams to better assist firms promote their capabilities and access
opportunities.
Water Industry Capability Teams will…
 Operate in up to five different market segments
 Unite companies with complementary products and services
 Be industry-driven and chaired by industry members
 Pursue opportunities and develop and market members capabilities as a group
As part of a Capability Team, members have the
opportunity to…
 Participate in joint promotions, marketing visits and trade fairs - benefiting from the critical mass created through the
Capability Teams in promoting capabilities to customers
 Contribute to joint communications, advertising and promotional literature
 Engage with domestic and international customers
 Collaborate to bid for water projects and packages - providing improved chances of securing projects from their
target client groups
 Establish networks and connections with other suppliers
 Participate in forums to discuss new opportunities
Membership
Membership is voluntary and open to any Australian-based water related company or organisation. While
membership is voluntary and may change over time, firms are encouraged to be committed and actively participate in
these teams.
Members will participate in targeted showcasing events, either domestically or internationally, supported by the Water
Supplier Advocate and waterAUSTRALIA. Capability Teams will regularly meet to discuss opportunities, determine
promotional activities to undertake and network.
National Workshops
A series of national workshops will he held throughout October to seek companies’ participation, receive input into the
priorities of the Capability Teams and help determine their operational framework.

segment in which your firm operates.
