Poznań/Warsaw, 30 czerwca 2017 Press release SAP Helps Manage Poland’s Capital Since January this year, management of the largest city in Poland has been carried out with help of the SAP system, implemented by a consortium of Sygnity and BCC. With respect to HR, this is one of the largest SAP projects in Poland, covering over 7,000 employees from 19 entities having their own HR departments. SAP implementation in the Warsaw Municipal Government Office covered areas of key importance for management of the city – finances and controlling (including the budget accounting functionality FI-FM – Funds Management, being part of the SAP solution for public institution management, and the HR and payroll area. There were over 100 people involved in the project – Municipal Office employees, Sygnity specialists responsible for implementation in the area of finances, and BCC consultants, responsible for the undertaking in the HR and payroll area. The volume of funds „flowing” through SAP FI every year and the number of employees served by SAP HR rank this project among the largest undertakings of this type in the public sector in Poland over the last years. Warsaw has assets worth 88.5 bn zlotys, and an annual budget of 6 bn zlotys, designated for financing multifarious tasks imposed on that self-government entity. They include, among others, transport and communication, education, environmental protection, maintenance of municipal properties, as well as road investments, construction, maintenance and modernization of public utility buildings. The planning, execution and settlement of all those tasks is supervised by over 7,000 regular employees working in the Town Hall and 18 in district offices, under the management of the Mayor of the City of Warsaw. „Implementation of an integrated SAP system is a kind of breakthrough in managing the urban structure of the capital.
