Dear Reader:
I have learned that to conduct excellent research I can’t look up Pericles on
Google and pick any of the websites that show up. I have to go to websites that suggest
other websites. It takes far less time and all the websites are reliable. I was guaranteed
quality facts on Pericles and it only took a short amount of time to find them.
I choose to research Pericles because I am very interested in Greece. I got a list
of about ten different Greek people. After I spent some time researching each of them I
discovered my favorites were Phidias and Pericles. I could not choose which one to do.
The paper where I had to write who I choose had scribbles all over it. Right at the last
second I scribbles out Phidias for the last time and wrote Pericles. I spent the rest of the
day wondering if I made the right choice. I think I did.
I understand much of what Pericles did and why he did it. I think Pericles
beautified Athens so the gods would make it be the greatest place in the world. He
wasn’t afraid to spend some money on that because he thought nobody would dare
attack Athens. How wrong was he.
Looking over the sources I used for my research, I am certain all of them are
reliable. I know this because I found all the website through Bishops or other reliable
online libraries that were recommended to me.
Reading back over my paper, I am particularly fond of the information about
Pericles I gave. I feel that I didn’t say too much about him but I didn’t leave any
important facts out. I wish I put more of my opinion in the paper. I feel that I never said
what I thought about any of Pericles’s decisions. I also could have had better word
choice in some areas. I am proud of my paper but I wish I had the oppertunity to revise
it whether there were comments or I had to revise it alone.
Respectfully,
Dory B.
