Doing it the long way.
Steps:
1) The data is the column under “x”
2) find  x
3) find mean ( x )
4) Fill in column of each observation (each x) minus the mean( x )
5) Take the number you found in 4) and square it and put it in the next column
6) Sum that “squared” column
7) Calculate the sample variance
8) Calculate the sample standard deviation
