Résumé Synopsis: KWAKU D. BOADU Arrow Network Systems, Ltd, #7, 12th Avenue, Abeka Main Road, Tesano. P. O. Box JT103, Accra. Tel: 024 4 33 16 85 Fax: 021 238 038 e-mail: [email protected] SUMMARY Kwaku is a practicing IT professional and entrepreneur, with specialty in IT Infrastructure. He is the CEO of Arrow Network Systems (www.arrownetworks.net), a data telecom company working with manufacturers and direct foreign investors, Racom s.r.o. of the Czech Republic (www.racom.cz), to deploy low cost digital wireless network solutions for point-of-sale financial transactions, on-line banking, ATM, mobile data networks, security, telemetry solutions and low-cost Internet access in Africa. He is an advocate for a low cost nation-wide high speed wireless backbone and low cost Internet access – to make it easier to fund free Internet access for African students for education. Using wireless narrowband technology, he led Arrow to deploy a 900-terminal network, the biggest WAN in Ghana, for the Department of Lotteries and Simnet. A similar technology has been used to create an award winning innovative low-cost, reliable Internet access solution for schools (Javelin), and panic-alarm-based Police security networks - solutions that can be deployed anywhere, without geographical barriers. Arrow is also deploying on-line and mobile banking networks in Nigeria. He presently sits on the Boards of the Ghana Stock Exchange and Television Africa Ltd. Prior to his present job, Kwaku was the CEO of Amalgamated Network Systems (ANS) where he spearheaded the successful implementation of [arguably] Africa’s first major point-to-multipoint fixed wireless broadband system [in Ghana] in conjunction with Spike Technologies of Nashua, USA. The phenomenal success of ANS attracted 100% acquisition by an Australian firm, AMX Resources, after 12months of operation, and got listed on the Australian Stock Exchange as Third Rail. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation from 2001 to 2003. His early years’ experiences were in VALCO, Kaiser Aluminum (USA) and Standard Chartered Bank, where he recorded significant successes in scientific applications/firmware development for real-time, on-line process control systems, man-machine interface software, banking data networks and IT project management. Kwaku formally holds a Bachelor’s degree (BSc Hons) in Computer Science and a Master’s degree (MPh) in Electrical Engineering. His keen business and social interests are in bringing innovative, reliable and low cost IP telecommunication infrastructure solutions into Africa. Married with three children. 1 Experience CEO ARROW NETWORK SYSTEMS LTD, NOV 2000 to date. Wireless Wide Area Networking Company.
