angle – two rays with a common endpoint. Rays cannot be collinear.
vertex – the common endpoint of the two rays.
sides – the two rays of the angle.
Ex. Name the angle in different ways.
Ex. Name all the angles in the figure.
measure of an angle – smallest amount of rotation from one ray to the other.
– measured in degrees.
– by definition its measure would be between 0° and 180°
reflex measure – largest rotation less than 360° between two rays.
Ex. Find the measure of the angle, and its reflex measure.
 Have students draw a few angles and measure them. Have students come to the overhead and measure
the angles that I have drawn.
congruent – two angles that have equal measure.
angle bisector – a ray that passes through the vertex of an angle and divides the angle into 2  ’s.
 Review incoming angle and outgoing angle on page 41
