IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics CALL FOR PAPERS for Special Section on " Nature inspired methods in Industry Applications " The Theme: Nature Inspired Methods (NIM) are a wide range of the algorithms which are used very often to solve the real-world optimization problems. Some of the real-world optimization problems are very complex, therefore the application of methods that mimic some natural processes and phenomena, which are very robust adaptive system, becomes more popular. One can find many different methods that imitate some natural processes, we mention here only a few most popular. They are: Evolutionary Algorithms (EA), Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Swarm Intelligence (SI), Artificial Immune Systems (AIS), and others. Recently, hybrid methods become developed and applied. They are interesting because they reveal advantages of combined methods eliminating their drawbacks. This Special Section on “Nature inspired methods in Industry Applications” is focused on the development, adaptation and application of the methods inspired by nature in real-life engineering applications. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following research topics: Genetic algorithms in real-life applications Differential evolution algorithm in real-life applications Genetic programming in real-life applications Particle swarm optimization algorithm in real-life applications Ant colony optimization algorithm in real-life applications Artificial Immune Systems in real-life applications Swarm Intelligence in real-life applications Bee algorithms in real-life applications Hybrid approach to real life problems with use of nature inspired methods Others in the scope of this issue Papers discussing new industrial applications and the resulting a newly developed nature inspire approach/hybrid are especially welcome. All contributions have to be original, unpublished, and not submitted for publication. Results obtained by simulations must be validated in bounds by experiments or analytical results. Manuscript Preparation and Submission Follow the guidelines in “Information for Authors” in the IEEE Transaction on Industrial Informatics http://tii.ieee-ies.org/ Please submit your manuscript in electronic form through Manuscript Central web site: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tii. On the submitting page #1 in popup menu of manuscript type, select: SS on Nature inspired methods in Industry Applications Submissions to this Special Section must represent original material that has been neither submitted to, nor published in, any other journal. Before submitting manuscript check the review criteria (http://tii.ieee-ies.org/o/RC.pdf). Note: The recommended papers for the section are subject to final approval by the Editor-in-Chief. Some papers may be published outside the special section, at the EIC discretion. Timetable: Deadline for manuscript submissions May 31, 2017 Expected publication date (tentative) February, 2018 Guest Editors: Adam Slowik, Department of Electronics and Computer Science, Koszalin University of Technology, Koszalin, Poland tel: +48-94-3478733, fax:+48-94-3433479, [email protected] Halina Kwasnicka, Head of the Department of Computational Intelligence, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Wroclaw, Poland, tel: +48 71 320 35 34, fax: +48 321 1018, [email protected] __________________________________________________________________________________________ Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Dr.-Ing; Dipl.-Ing Ren C.
