Quickening, solo electro-acoustic composition to accompany performance art piece about
pregnancy. DiverseWorks, Houston, Texas.
1996
PLANTATIONLAND (film), Premiered at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in March of 1996.
Composer, lighting designer and grant writer for 40-minute black & white film (all music - no
dialogue) shot in burned out plantation home in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Extensive use of
SMPTE, MIDI and digital recording.

Spring Equinox, a progression of the earlier Alchemy House.
1993
Alchemy House, 5419 Blossom St., Houston, TX. Composer of soundscape using five tape
machines throughout the five rooms of a condemned house which had been transformed by
visual artist Dan Havel using alchemical concepts and imagery as impetus. Sound
composition designed to enhance choreography of the 22 performers.
Symbiosis, DiverseWorks, Houston, TX. Eight minute tape composition designed to reinforce
performance ritual conceived by Kelli Scott Kelley.

The Imminent Asteroid (The Asteroid Project), Heights Theater, Houston, TX.
Composer and music director for this eight act opera involving over 60 musicians, dancers,
artists, and special effects experts.

-Commerce Street Artists Warehouse, Houston, TX.
Four pieces of music for four musicians using homemade and advanced electronic musical
instruments. Performance ritual designed by artist Kelli Scott Kelley.

Secret Secret, DiverseWorks, Houston, TX.
Conceived and directed this four-act abstract opera without words. Four compositions make
use of voice, acoustic, electronic, and homemade instruments. Four on-stage prerecorded
video monitors and sculpture add further twist to choreography and storyline.
The Lake Project (Mother Cleans House), A lake in Splendora, TX.;
Three pieces of structured improvisation parade/funeral music reinforce this multi-artist,
multi media ritual performance utilizing a lake in the piney woods of Texas.

UnEarthing/ the Spirit, Lisser Theater, Mills College, Oakland, CA.; Conceived and directed
these two wordless operas that make use of acoustic, electronic and homemade instruments,
tapes, lights, props, 50 pounds of rice and a 300-pound block of ice.

Two metal buckets...when a water droplet lands in one bucket, you hear a dog bark.
When the droplet lands in bucket number two, you hear a cat meow.

Commissioned thirty minute tape-loop composition designed for a small garden.
Standing wave phenomenon is used most magically here.
