I'm not sure if ALL of realize that these meetings are discipline times. I'm teaching,
rebuking, correcting, and training reach of you in righteousness so that you are
thoroughly equipped for every good work. In 6 years of ministry Tracy and I have
proven to be capable of building vibrant churches from literally nothing. I'm not just
talking about baptizing some people.
I'm talking about making SoldOut, committed disciples, totally unified with our
movement in mind & spirit. Humble people, able to be corrected and molded.
Taking old crusty, lukewarm Christians who’ve been asleep in the church for years
and raising them from the dead & helping them finally reach their potential
I'm talking about adding to our numbers while raising up other leaders to sustain
the growth.
Producing this forceful advancement takes being consistent in DTimes, focusing on
sodium topics in DTimes, and EXPECTING AND BELIEVING that alk disciples are
good hearted disciples Eli change of err just keep preaching God's Word with the
fruits of the spirit.
Some of you lethally ignore these badic church building principles in your DTimes
and in your lessons so you fail to unify your ministries on them and you try to build
on what you already know si you don't have to do what it takes to imitate and grow
spiritually. Then when things get tough you prove unfaithful being a hired hand Who
runs when the wolf attacks your flock.
Paul wanted to know Christ & the POWER of his resurrection. - PHILIPPIANS 3:7-16
The challenge Paul was talking about here is the Power to see horrible things and to
still have the Heart of God, who forgets the sins of men
To know Christ and the Power of his resurrection is to forget the sins of men, to
forget the hurts and pains of hardship, and to press on towards the goal because
Jesus died for you
In order to do this we must have the Heart and Focus of God
It’s time for many of you to see the reality of what you are building, get really
humble, stop Doing your own thing, get some DEEP CONVICTIONS about these
BASICS that I'm having you, and really study these lessons and make them an
INTEGRAL part of your DTimes and your focus

are either consistently fruitful and Humble or you have Idols
Idols ALWAYS get smashed
Either your smash them or God Smashes them
But when God smashes, it’s not like the Hulk
o Slow, painful
o Something you will never forget
Exodus 20:3-6
1. "You shall have no other gods before me.”
2. "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven
above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow
down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,
punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth
generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand [
generations] of those who love me and keep my commandments.
1 John 5:21 “Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.”

YOU MAKE YOUR IDOLS
EXODUS 20:4
Idols are literally made up of the fear of God, removed from your heart
They Make up for where your relationship with God lacks
Your Fear of not having it replaces your fear of the Lord
o Since you don’t fear God you easily let go of the Fruits of the Spirit when you
don’t get what you want
Here’s the scariest thing, when you lose the Fear of the Lord you also lose
something that is precious – something that has massive impact in every area
of your life-wisdom

YOU BOW DOWN TO YOUR IDOLS
EXODUS 20:5
 When you studied the Bible you studied Galatians
o Any thing, any person, any dream that comes BEFORE God
 Doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing
 What happens when you put it before God?
 You put it BEFORE the Fruits of the spirit
 You are willing to let God of God and His
o Doesn’t necessarily have to

o Nobody in here pulls out our stone statue, bows down to it, shove it back
under the bed and go off to work
o But, we have idols in our life that are just as real that we bown down to
o We even put our dreams, sometimes our dreams
 We bow down to school…our family…our spouse…our jobs…to ourselves...our
friendships…our desire to date…our dreams

YOUR IDOLS MASTER YOU
2 PETER 2:19
A slave does what it master tells it to do
When you have an idol you are literally prostitute yourself to something Satan
has commanded you to Give your whole heart to
When you obey your idol instead of God with any regularity it’s mastered you
STORY: I can be guilty this: What I want from my wife is so important to me
that I pull out my idol of an intimate, affectionate, passionate marriage and bow
down to it by getting angry that I don’t get it
o I often wonder if this is the Thorn in my flesh
2 PETER 2:19
Here’s why Satan wants to master you with Idols
Idols master you by stealing your heart from the Lord
o Once he’s got your heart, He says, “Servant!, yess massa”
o Stop reading your Bible, Obeying it hasn’t worked for your yet, Yes, massa
o That blessing from the Lord isn’t what you asked him for, Stop being grateful,
OK Massa
o God is never going to answer you. Stop praying, yes massa
o Patience isn’t going to work, tell him what you really think.
o There’s no reason to be joyful, this world is a horrible place
o That’s not love, even though it’s what Jesus did
o With all that sin, she doesn’t deserve kindness
o Don’t get your strength from God’s word, get it from your success and
getting what you want
 It’s exhausting manufacturing the Fruits of YOUR IDOL’S Spirit
If you don’t stay on top of this in Discipling times, the church will become a
church of broken dreams
o Every Dream of an idol get’s smashed and broken

HAVING AN IDOL IS HATRED TOWARDS GOD

 It’s actually friendship and love for something that is of the world

Stop Hating God and Repent from Your Idolatry

YOUR CHILDREN AND THEIR CHILDREN PAY THE PRICE FOR YOUR IDOLS
EXODUS 20:5
Starting the Teen Ministry has shown me what your idols are and let me tell
you, they are paying the price and they are paying it severely
They are paying the price for your broken dreams, broken relationships, for all
of your grumbling and complaining
How do they pay the price, they run from the Kingdom instead of running to it.
o They run to their boyfriends/girlfriend
o Run to anything to get away from you and the church
o Running right into sins that can destroy their lives forever
Most of you are so arrogant that you virtually NEVER apologize
Tuesday we talked about Apologies - Teens:
o They get ignored
o Mistreated
o They get Discipleship forced on them
o Often not greeted
o Rarely get apologies
Our Children are paying the price for our idolatry. Let’s wake up and save
ourselves so that we can have some hope of saving them

IDOLS MAKE YOU FIGHT
JAMES 4:1-4
Fight with each other and Fight with God
Who have you been fighting with?
What is it you want?
Can’t you see why God won’t give it to you?
Stop Fighting the Wrong Fight and Start Fighting the Right One

SMASHING YOUR IDOLS IS DOING WHAT IS RIGHT IN THE EYES OF THE LORD
1 KINGS 15:11, 2 KINGS 23:8-16
 Asa Did what was right, but failed to continue to obey, so Got killed him with an
infection in the foot
 An eight yr Old King
o Never was there a King like Josiah
o Stop focusing on the idol and focus on what is missing
o Discipling
o Idols literally make us stupid and steal everything good from us
o Help them not be stupid
o Help them get it from God

Stop making Idols, start Bowing to the scriptures and
the Lord again, Remember Idols Master you and
Control your spirit, They are Hatred Toward God, Our
Children, their children, and their grandchildren pay
the price long after our idols are gone, they make you
fight. Remember Either you are going to smash the
idol or God is going to Smash it.
Let’s smash our idols, destroy our High places and do
what is right in the Eyes of the Lord so God can save
our children and take our church to the next level!
