Body Language Classroom Activity: Demonstration Review the dialogs that were used to demonstrate listening skills. Evaluate the body language that was observed in each. Or, develop new scenarios for this activity. A variation on this activity is to demonstrate body language prior to and after the discussion and compare and contrast differences between the two. Use this as a reference in a class discussion or as a discussion question in a study group. Consider the following scenario and answer the questions that follow. You are the group leader for a project at your place of employment. One of your team members contributes effectively during group meetings, but does not look group members in the eye when speaking. You begin to hear comments and remarks—not all of them kind—about this individual and her lack of eye contact. You suspect that it may be due to cultural influence. How do you approach the group? How do you address the issue with the individual? Copyright © 2007 Thomson Delmar Learning. All Rights Reserved.
