Project and Description
Choose a disciplinarian from the list of ologies or
find your own!
Gather resources on the topic of study. You must
have 3 sources to gather your information from.
One source must be a book and the other two can be
an internet site. Make sure to print our or copy
your information!
Citations: Using the citation maker on eChalk, you
must site all of your resources. If you don’t site
your resources it is considered plagiarism and you
receive ZERO credit for your work!
Take notes on details of the discipline and job of
the disciplinarian. Using either outline form,
listing information, or notecards, you must put the
information that you researched into your own
words!
Write job description of the disciplinarian. This
job description should detail what the ology means,
what the disciplinarian does for their job, and
what they need to know to have this job. This
should be done on a separate page in paragraph
from. (1-2 paragraphs)
List tools the disciplinarian uses to conduct their
research. On a separate piece of paper, either
list or write a paragraph about the tools they use
to collect and conduct their research.
Contributions to the world. On a separate piece of
paper, write a paragraph explaining what
contributions this discipline makes to the world.
How does it help the world, your country, your
state, your city, you?
List the unanswered questions in the field of
study. ON a separate piece of paper write down any
unanswered questions that you still have about this
discipline. You must write at least 5 questions
you might have, or are still wondering, but you
could absolutely write more!
Connect it to school. On a separate piece of
paper, explain how does this discipline relates to
what you have learned or studied?
Connect across disciplines: On a separate piece of
paper, connect this area of study to the different
curricular areas such as mathematics, history,
poetry, writing, art, music, etc.
Identify a famous disciplinarian in the field.
Discuss when this person became famous, how long
they have been working in this field, what they
have done to help this field, and anything else
interesting about their life. Write 1-2
paragraphs.
