Final Exam Study Guide
The final exam will take place on Wednesday, December 11 from 2:00-4:30 in HUM 129. DO NOT BE LATE! If the class
finishes taking their test by 2:30 and you decide to stroll in at 2:31 YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE THE FINAL
EXAM. Please bring the skinny green scantron (numbered 1-100) that we have used for all of our exams. Bring at least two
sharpened pencils with you so that you don’t have to sharpen them in class.
The Final Exam is worth 150 points, where ~100 points will come from Ch. 17 (Immunity and Infection), Ch. 5 (Sex and Your
Body), Ch. 6 (Contraception), and the STD handout (from Ch. 18). Approximately 50 points will be review material (Ch’s,
1,2,3,10, 11, 12,13,14,15,16,20). The following study guide will help you prepare for the REVIEW portion of the exam ONLY.
You will not need to study more for the review portion of the final than what is listed on this study guide below.

What is a contraceptive?
Know the four general types of contraceptives. (hormonal, barrier, surgical, natural methods).
What exactly is done during a tubal ligation and vasectomy?
For each of the contraceptives discussed in class (and therefore on the powerpoint) make sure you know the following:
