Hospital Group Timetable August 2013 to July 2014 – updated 18/07/2014
Black font – Programme Director led sessions
Blue font – Trainee facilitated sessions*
Each trainee is expected to sign up to deliver a minimum of 2 sessions during the year (1 session if you are in a 6 month GP post for part
of the year, 2 sessions if you are in a 4 month GP post for part of the year). These should be a mixture of sessions 1 and 2, soapbox and
hot topics. No more than 3 trainees to facilitate a session and there should if possible be a mix of ST1 and ST2 trainees. If a trainee does
not volunteer to facilitate the required number of sessions, these will be allocated by the GPSTP office. If a trainee is allocated to a
session on a date they are not attending teaching, it is the trainee’s responsibility to arrange any necessary swaps with colleagues to
cover the session.
Some topics will have pre-course work to be completed in advance of the day to ensure that all registrars have a baseline level of
knowledge on the subject. It is the facilitating trainees’ responsibility to locate and use relevant learning from a reputable source, you
could also use clinical knowledge summaries and GP notebook. *A draft teaching plan for all presentations (including details of sources
used) should be completed and e-mailed to Jane Searle ([email protected]) no later than 2 weeks before the session takes place.
Please e-mail your presentation and any other information to Sue ([email protected]) so it can be forwarded to the hospital group
e-mail list and also stored centrally.
Please e-mail Sue ([email protected]) at the GPSTP Office a list of the dates on which you will be attending teaching sessions
during the coming 4-6 months and also the dates of the sessions you would like to facilitate.
