ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Single User Database System with SQL-like Query Support and Optimization
January 2008 – March 2008
 Designed a single user database that supports a subset of SQL and relational algebraic operations. Components include B+
Tree Implementation, Relational Algorithms, Query Compiler/Optimizer and Caching/Buffering Mechanisms.
Group Management Protocol / Distributed Token Ring for Mutual Exclusion
September 2007 – October 2007
 Implemented leader selection bully algorithm for distributed clients & developed a group management protocol using
UDP/IP Multicasting. Implemented a token ring based distributed topology for achieving mutual exclusion among clients.
CURE hierarchical clustering algorithm using kd-trees for large databases
September 2007 – October 2007
 Implemented the CURE clustering algorithm from the original paper written by Guha et. al. using kd-trees and analyzed
the performance improvement against other partitioned based clustering algorithms like K-Means and DBSCAN.
