Every Day is a Healthy Day
Take home activity sheet 1: Carbohydrates
Child’s message
Many of our carbohydrates come from plants, some of these being healthier
than others.
Adult’s message
Carbohydrates are an important part of both our child’s and our own diets as
they provide us with the energy needed to get through the day. Due to the
different processes and types of carbohydrates, some are healthier than
others. Whole grain carbohydrates should be eaten more often as they
provide our bodies with essential vitamins and give us more bulk to our diet,
helping bowl functions.

The fruits and vegetables we buy in the supermarket have often travelled

Take home activity sheet 7: Supermarket to Plate
Child’s message
When shopping in the supermarket many of our decisions are influenced by
other people such as advertisers and peers. Today many people choose to go
for the less healthy option of frozen foods, however we should aim to buy
fresh and cook from scratch.
Adult’s message
Fresh produce has less additives and more nutrients than processed foods.
While these may seem like the easier and cheaper option buying fresh can
actually mean buying less often.
