Try Your Hand at Drawing Triangles 1 point In this activity, you will draw six triangles: an isosceles triangle, an equilateral triangle, a scalene triangle, a right triangle, and acute triangle, and an obtuse triangle. *You are to: 1). name each triangle 2). label the measurements of ALL of its sides AND angles 3). color it When you are done, you will have a poster of triangles. The following information will help you draw the triangles accurately: *Isosceles triangles have at least two congruent sides. *Equilateral triangles have three congruent sides. *Scalene triangles have no congruent sides. *Right triangles have one right angle. *Acute triangles have three acute angles. *Obtuse triangles have one obtuse angle. *In every triangle, the sum of the measures of the angles equals 180˚. Use the following information to construct the triangles. Remember to label the measures of all sides and angles. 1. Draw an isosceles triangle. One side is 5 inches and one angle is 70˚. 2. Draw an equilateral triangle. One side is 4 inches. 3. Draw a scalene triangle. One angle measures 20˚ and another angle measures 85˚. 4. Draw a right triangle. One side is 4 inches. 5. Draw an acute triangle. One side is 5 inches and another side is 7 inches. 6. Draw an obtuse triangle. One side is 6 inches and another side is 4 inches. *If doing this project, you are to use a large piece of white construction paper. That is the only paper this can be done on. *You may also sign out a protractor to measure your angles, unless you have one at home to use. *Neatness counts. *Suggestion: Practice drawing each triangle on a scrap piece of paper before putting the final triangle on the poster.
