Part I: Making Verbs Agree with their Subjects
 Read each sentence below.
 Write the subject and the complete verb (including helping verbs).
 Write whether the subject and the verb AGREE or DISAGREE.
Sample: Those tests were the hardest ones so far this year.
Answer: tests, were AGREE
1. During the holidays, the school choir perform at the local nursing home. (school,
perform, DISAGREE)
2. Tree trunks grow wider every year. (trunks, grow, AGREE)
3. The Weimaraner, a silver-grey hunting dog, is also known as “the Forester’s dog”.
(Weimaraner, is, AGREE)
Part II: Phrases Between the Subject and the Verb
1. Stiletto-like mouthparts of the female mosquito (pierces/pierce) the victim’s skin.

Part III: Compound Subjects
