Good Morning KKIM Family!
It is so AWESOME to be back with you.
Let us now CLEAR OUR MINDS........and spend time together in the Lord!
It has been a time of rest and renewal. It has been a time for Sharon and the kids and dogs.It has
been a time to spend in prayer and to listen for the Lord. Some of the highlights were Lars getting
accepted at CNM for Film making school! Praise God! Steph is off in a new chapter in her life.
She is now based in North Carolina working for Apjet of Santa Fe. She works with plasma
systems. Everyone gathered at one time or another for my birthday........we had lot's of company!
Another highlight........Lars really touched me with a phone call saying, "Dad, I want my friend to
have breakfast with us, his Dad died and he needs a father figure." Lars is always looking out for
others.
I heard from so many of you while I was on vacation. Thank you so much for the Birthday wishes!
Many of you like Karen wrote that it is so good to take time and rest.
Before we get started we get this weather report From Franchesca............
It's so dry in Texas that the Baptists are
starting to baptize by 'sprinkling,'
The Methodists are using 'wet-wipes,'
the Presbyterians are giving out 'rainchecks,''
and the Catholics are praying for the
wine to turn back into water.
Now ... THAT'S Dry!

Sandy wants to thank you for your prayers for her daughter Codi who has returned from
Costa Rica........
Thank you for all of the prayers! Codi got home Saturday night. She is COVERED
from the waist down with bug bites and has a really nasty cold and cough! We are going
to spend the next week ir so nursing her back to health. Praise God for answered
prayers!

I got a note from Susan Albizo from Bakersfield, California asking for prayer for her
brother Paul who has just been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Please add Paul to your
prayer lists. Let us be prayer warriors for him.
Our lack of discipline in prayer comes from our freshly desire of comfort and ease.
"Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful
nature to His cross and crucified them there" (Galatians 5:24) Prayer is not easy work.
For the real practice of prayer-----taking hold of God and having communion and
fellowship with Him----it is necessary that our selfish desires be sacrificed. Isn't it worth
the trouble to deny ourselves daily in order to meet the Holy God and receive His
blessings?
Let us pray..........
Heavenly Father, help me to joyfully give up earthly pleasures and the desires of the
flesh so that my prayers may be more powerful and effective. In Jesus name, AMEN!
On this topic..........Karen hit's it right on the nail...........
Praying you really did get some R&R and extra special time w/the family. That is vital
for all of who we are in Christ (spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally-a healthy
strong cord :-) )
I am looking forward to the end of summer school (i have really enjoyed the kids and
friends) to be able to take a day or so and go see Jamie & Nick near Grand Rapids, MI.
Holly loved San Diego and her visit out there... I hope to be able to see her in Muncie
before school starts for me too :-) The days are busy, much to do this includes giving
time to friends who are hurting when i think i need to be getting "stuff" done at home.
The investment in lives needs to take precedence over the things... sometimes... a hard
juggle for me--shouldn't be-shouldn't be any question... preaching to myself-haha!

I found my prayer journal from 15 years ago........It was amazing to go through
it........and see the names of the people I was praying for..........I list all the
people I pray for and the prayers I sent to the Lord about my walk with
Him........Do you keep a prayer journal?
Praying to me has become easy........because I do it constantly........I talk to the
Lord all the time and make time to listen...because I do talk to much!!!! I listen
for the Holy Spirit........and wait upon the "nudges" of the Holy Spirit.
Here is what Bob Sorge of Unrelenting Prayer says about Prayer..........
God loves it when we cry out to Him, day and night, without ceasing. Why?
Because He reckons unrelenting prayer to be an expression of faith. he sees it
as a concrete representation of the confidence we have in His intervention.
And if there's anything that pleases God, it's faith.
Hebrews 11:6 says.............But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for
he who comes to God must believe that He is, and what He is a rewarder of
those who diligently seek Him.
If you have no faith, you would have given up asking by now. The fact that
you're still asking is in itself, evidence of a measure of faith, even if you wish
your faith levels were stronger. Unceasing prayer is by essence a declaration of
confidence in God's will and intention to intervene. So when you lift your cry
24/7, God receives your demonstration of faith with great pleasure and delight.
So KKIM family, Let us prayer with FAITH to our Lord 24/7.........and let us
listen for the Holy Spirit and wait upon the "nudges" from the Spirit.
I have to tell you it is amazing to be able to hear the Lord and feel those
NUDGES.......wait upon the Lord and He will answer you........I experience
this all the time and it is so WONDERFUL...........to follow HIS will not ours!
From Chuck Swindoll's book on Job...........
"trustworthy are the bruises caused by the wounding of one who loves you."
The bruise that comes after the verbal blow of one who loves you is a
trustworthy bruise. In genuine love, your friend confronts you with the truth---you're alone, in private, and you hear the hard thing that needs to be
confronted. That bruise stays with you, and you're a better person for it. Such
bruising is much more helpful and reliable than a phony embrace, the "kiss" of
a flatterer whom Solomon calls our "enemy." Good counsel is a good thing,
even if it hurts to hear it.
Amen to that.........Chuck is full of good advice! So many times we dismiss our
friends with that "kiss"! When we should have that private talk!
More thoughts that the Lord gave me to share with you.........
We have to have God's clear mind daily to live the life the Lord intended us too live.
How to we do that? We seek the Lord's will in our lives daily and listen for and feel the nudges of
the Holy Spirit.
We pray and talk with the Lord constantly.
If we do not do these, we will make many mistakes.
To be a good friend and counselor requires enormous timing (That comes from listening and
feeling the nudges of the Holy Spirit, not our self will and timing) great wisdom. a long rope (and
not for hanging our friend) and great understanding.
People who are hurting don't do well when we deliver a mixture of Ghengis Kahn and Mike
Tyson rolled into one verbal blast!
Please keep praying for those in the Midwest............

Freedom!!!
This month we celebrate our nation's freedom. Freedom from tyranny. Freedom to live as U.S.
citizens. It is a special time in our nation's history and we should be very proud. We all know,
however, that this freedom we now enjoy was not free. Many men sacrificed their lives, limbs,
families, careers, etc so that we can live and enjoy our freedom.
Even though we celebrate our freedom during the 4th of July, remember that we should celebrate
our freedom in Christ every day. What do I mean? I mean the opportunity to not live as a slave.
Slavery is a horrible thing. It takes a man's dignity, his ability to choose, his ability to think and
act on his own. In fact, his body is not his own, but belongs to his master. I do not believe that I
overstate the fact that our enemy is real and wants you, as a man, to live as a slave. Our enemy
wants to control every facet of our lives. He wants to kill you, steal from you and destroy you.
This happens through the chains of slavery to sin. The chains of anger, the chains of defeat, the
chains of pornography, the chains of poverty, the chains of alcohol, etc. Those chains were
meant to keep you enslaved and to keep you weighted down.
In our nation's history a great man decided to fight the tyranny of slavery through the Civil War.
Abraham Lincoln gave his great Emancipation Proclamation that "freed" the slaves. It was a very
bold move. In one act, the President of the U.S. freed all slaves, at least on paper. Despite this
great proclamation there weren't any Southern plantation owners who willingly gave up their
slaves. No! The emancipation proclamation had to be enforced through the blood and sweat of
the warriors who fought in the Civil War. The same is true in our lives. It was for Freedom that
Christ set us free. Gal 5:1. It has been proclaimed! However, that does not mean that we are
automatically living as free men. No, that freedom must be enforced. This is where a man is
required to live as a warrior and take the kingdom of God that was offered to you through Christ
and his blood. It is the violent men, the warriors, the champions, the valiant and strong who take
this freedom by force. Matt 11:12.
I don't know about you, but I would much rather live as a free man (free from want, free from fear,
free from the effects of sin, etc.) than to live under the chains of slavery. This is not true for all
men, however. Some become comfortable with their chains. Some don't even know what to do
with their freedom. Just as some slaves found it difficult to live with their physical freedom, men
today may find it difficult to live in their spiritual freedom. They feel that they must continue to toil
under the oppression. Somehow they believe that it makes them more spiritual or that they
wouldn't know how to live any other way. What a shame! Don't short change yourself. Break
out! Break free! Explore your life. In what areas does sin continue to enslave you? Is it your
marriage? Is it your health? Decide today that you want to experience the freedom that was
already proclaimed for you. Decide today to rise up with the spirit of a warrior and battle for your
freedom, battle for your family's freedom and battle for your future's freedom. Recognize that do
not have to be characterized by slavery. Recognize that you can act, live and enjoy life as a free
man! I leave you with an awesome portion of Patrick Henry's speech before the signing of the
Declaration of Independence. While you enjoy the freedoms of this nation, also decide to enjoy
the freedom that comes from following Christ.
"It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace-- but there is no
peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears
the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle?
What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to
be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course
others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!"

It is so hard for me to take time off....but I will be back Tuesday..need to refresh.........and as I say
this my cell is going off and email is coming in.........I need to do this for my family and

KKIM is your home for Christian News and Talk. yesterday we had Dr. Wayne Barber of
Hoffmantown Church in Albuquerque on New Mexico News and Views talking about getting
people of faith involved in the political process and not putting our heads in the sand.

"The Flying paperboy of the Guadalupes" monument near Queen is a memorial to Frank A.
Kindel, who at one time dropped newspapers from his airplane to ranchers and hunters in the
mountains of New Mexico. He died at age 72 when his plane crashed in 1964.
Heights Christian started out it's new season in softball with a victory last night. We have been
bumped up a notch or two in leagues. Boy, did I notice a difference.......this league is tough! By
the way I am older than my uniform number!!!! I turn 52 on the July 4th. It is something to be at
this age and look around and see all these young people playing softball and with most of there
life ahead of them and just starting to have families. It makes me happy and a bit sad, as I wish I
could have changes a few things in my life looking back on it. But with my faith in the Lord we
look ahead to glory! I am just an old softie and start thinking how my Dad used to play catch with
me when I was growing up. Dad and I always played catch!
If you love baseball you gotta read "Once Upon A fastball" by Bob Mitchell. Sharon just got it fore
me and I just started it is AWESOME!!! Boy does it take me back to my childhood. Baseball is a
game of bonding.......it is a game of memories.
Here are two prayer needs friends............
Dewey,
A prayer request very near and dear to my heart, as I'm sure it will be yours; our lovely friend
Brenda Towle suffered what was considered a "mild" heart attack the weekend before last (I've
already lectured her regarding the delay in letting us know). Apparently all is well ~ the Drs. are
treating it as a wake-up-call of sorts and dispensing the expected "you need to be more serious
about your health" lectures. Please pray that the Lord grant Brenda the strength to take all the
necessary precautions in terms of her health (which all of know is much easier said than done) so
that she'll be around for many, many years for her husband, son and grandchildren not to
mention the thousands of friends, for whom she is such a dependable and reassuring pillar of
strength. Brenda is the sort of person that would (and does) do anything for anyone and I fear
that sometimes this comes at a cost of doing what is best for Brenda ~ please join me in praying
for strength and healing for her.
Additionally, Brenda and her husband were dealt the painful blow of losing one of their beloved
"Weiner Dogs" this morning. Meyer (as in Oscar & Meyer) died unexpectedly and both Brenda
and Curtis are just devastated. Not everyone would understand, but being a dog lover, I know
you can relate to just how hurtful this can be.
Please have your readers/listeners lift this family up in prayer this week.

Here is a note from our Dear Friend John Robb of Albuquerque who is with World Vision........
Dear Friends,
The international prayer summit for the Mus_lim world that was held last
week went very well. Thanks so much to those of you who were able to pray
for it. Participants from 20 nations gathered to report on what God was
doing in their countries and to pray together for His breakthrough among
this large bloc of unreached people. Jesus is appearing to many Mus_lims in
dreams, visions and other kinds of visitations. The Arabic radio and
internet outreach of a Coptic Orthodox father who is an Is_lamic scholar
with the heart of an evangelist is resulting in thousands upon thousands
more turning to the Lord. Still, there is much persecution, risk and danger
for the new believers. The organizers handled the event well and I believe
that a good foundation was laid for a continuing prayer network that will
continue to cover this issue. Please pray with us that a strong, growing
prayer network and movement will emerge from last week’s gathering.
Those from Afghanistan and Pakistan made a special plea for prayer support.
The Taliban have been resurging from the NW frontier areas of Pakistan and
mounting some devastating attacks within Afghanistan over the past several
months. Suicide bombers and kidnappers could threaten the “soft― targets of
humanitarian organizations and other NGOs serving the Afghan people. Please
pray that this will not happen and that the Taliban and Al Qaeda leaders
will be thrown into confusion and disunity so that they will not be able to
continue their attacks. Pray that the new government of Pakistan will
pursue and root them out of their hideouts rather than make deals with them
that enable these terrorists to carry out more brazen assaults in both
countries. The representatives from Pakistan and Afghanistan warned us that
if these two nations become further destabilized and were to fall, the
effects on the rest of the world, especially the West would be
incalculable. Please keep both nations in your hearts for ongoing prayer.
If any of you would like to be part of special prayer networks for each
nation, please let me know. This will enable you to get more specific
updates to follow the situation more deeply.
Here in Chennai, India, participants are beginning to arrive for the
Children in Prayer Global Consultation which begins tomorrow and runs
through Sunday. URGENT CONCERN: A transport strike has been declared for
tomorrow and, if it happens, could greatly hinder the delegates from
getting to the conference venue. Please pray with us that this strike will
be called off or postponed until after the consultation is finished. It is
vital that everyone be able to come on time by tomorrow. 160-170 are in
transit from about 40 countries as well as from many parts of India. We
need your ongoing prayer cover for this pivotal event that the Lord would
use it as part of His intention to raise up a new generation of
intercessors to bless the nations and our world. Pray for all the
presenters and chairs as well as for our administrative and logistic team
who are working very hard to pull this off. May the presence and power of
the Holy Spirit enliven and guide every aspect of our time together so that
each participant is stirred and challenged to become a force for CiP in
their own nations and regions. I have attached the banner that will serve
as the consultation backdrop so you can see it if you like.
Thanks so much for your support through prayer. It will be a blessing to
have you participate with us in this way.

I PRAISE GOD that I can be with you this morning and share about our AWESOME FATRHER!!!!
A small cup this morning, but Chuck Swindoll has filled it with wisdom for us!
Is there a better writer out there than Swindoll? You can hear him weekdays at 6:30 am and
6:30pm weekdays on KKIM.
The following could change how you look at God and life.............and it's all in the Bible for
you........the book of Job.

God is no heavenly servant of ours who waits for the snap of our fingers, is He?
He is our Lord and our Master God! We need to remember that the God we serve has a game
plan that is beyond our comprehension, hard times like this notwithstanding."
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways," declares the Lord. "For
as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My
thoughts than your thoughts" Isaiah 55: 8-9
And so we say , with Job: "O, God, I trust You. I don't know why I'm going through this. If there's
something I can learn, wonderful. If there's something someone else can learn, great. Just get me
through it. Just hold me close. Deepen me. Change me."
NOW READ THIS CAREFULLY PLEASE MY FRIENDS..................
Job asked, "Shall we accept good from God and not accept adversity?"
because he knew that God is God, someday He will make it clear. That's one of the reasons I
believe heaven will be such a delightful place. When we step into His presence for the first time
we will be given the panoramic view, and then (and not until then) we will respond, "So that's the
reason! Now I get it!"
AND GET THIS..........
"It is easier to lower your view of God than to raise your faith to such a height," writes a
perceptive author. He then adds, "We shall watch the struggle as Job's faith is strained every way
by temptations to see the cause of his misfortune in something less than God." God is totally and
completely and absolutely in charge.
May God be with you today.............turn your heart and thoughts toward Him, Dewey Sharon and
family
PS......When you study the life of Paul and Job and the WORD of God..........then you realize how
silly this preaching on prosperity really is. The truth is in God's word not man's.
