Motif- A recurrent thematic element in an artistic or literary work.
Specious- Having the ring of truth or plausibility but actually fallacious: a specious argument Deceptively
attractive.
stri·dent adj. Loud, harsh, grating, or shrill; discordant. Synonyms loud, vociferous.

of·fi·cious adj. Marked by excessive eagerness in offering unwanted services or advice to others: an officious
host; officious attention.
fes·toon n. A string or garland, as of leaves or flowers, suspended in a loop or curve between two points.
·ebul·lience n. Zestful enthusiasm

effigy- an image or representation of a person often a crude figure of a hated person
lamentably- that which is regretted or grieved over, mournful

Obscene-lewd, disgusting, inappropriate, revolting

Talisman- good luck charm, thing with magical power or significance, thing held with regard as sacred or
powerful
Devastated- destroyed, ruined, taken out beyond recognition
Ludicrous- ridiculous, absurd, beyond reason and sensibility
Inscrutable- unable to be understood or described, unclear
Ineffectual- not effective, unable to take hold or influence, useless

Incantation- chant, spell, words that carry power repeated for significance
Obscurity- unknown, little recognized piece of information or thing, held in the dark or kept secret
Cordon- A line of people, military posts, or ships stationed around an area to enclose or guard it.
Antiphonal- Occurring or responding in turns; alternating:
Inimical- Unfriendly; hostile: a cold, inimical voice
