Choose one assignment to complete. Grades will be based on the rubric found on the back of this sheet. Projects are due on
Wednesday, September 21, 2016. If you will be absent that day, turn in your project early!!!
Board Game
Create a “Who am I?” game
using the parts of the cell.
Pick eight parts of the cells.
Write 8 clues for each part,
starting with hard clues
and
the last being the easiest
clue.
Research Paper
5 paragraph
Research the origin of 3
organelles. In a paper,
explain how the organelles
were discovered, identify
the person that discovered
them, and explain how the
organelle’s structure is
related to its function
within a cell. You must use
at least 3 sources and
include a bibliography.
Song, Rap, or Poem
Create a song, rap or poem
to illustrate the job of three
to five organelles in the cell.
Children’s Story
Create a story that an
average fifth grader could
read. The story should
relate the cell organelles to
a factory or a city and be
interesting and
entertaining. Include all
relevant information, such
as how the organelle works,
name of the organelle, what
you are comparing it to and
why. Color pictures should
also be included.
Crossword Puzzle
Make a crossword puzzle
using the words listed
below. Your clever clues
(not definitions) must be in
your own words. Cell,
organelle, eukaryote,
prokaryote, mitochondria,
cell membrane, cell wall,
nucleus, ribosome,
endoplasmic reticulum,
lysosome, chloroplast, golgi
apparatus, cytoplasm,
flagellum, cilia.
Travel Brochure
Using small roadside
attractions or an
amusement park as an
inspiration, produce a
travel brochure to entice
visitors to take the next exit
and visit the "incredible,
amazing, and unbelievable!"
sights of an animal or plant
cell. Include colorful
pictures of each
attraction/organelle.
Include at least 8
organelles.
3-D Cell Model
Make a 3-dimensional model of a plant or animal cell. Your model may be edible or
inedible. Please refrain from using any products that require refrigeration. All
organelles must be included and labeled. Include a legend or key for your model.
