"New ideas, formats and technologies that will change the way you print and mail" Panelists: Pat Ring, Manager, USPS, Karen McCormick, President, Fulfillment Express, Kevin Gilligan, VP Marketing, Structural Graphics Moderator: Mariah Hunt, Senior Production Manager, Digitas Panelist Karen McCormick will share valuable insights on what direct mail programs companies and nonprofits are using to find success. Understand how direct mail continues to be used in multi-media campaigns How to plan mailings in conjunction with the ups+downs of the Post Office Karen McCormick is the President and Founder of Fulfillment Express in Waltham, MA. For over twentyfive years, Karen has led Fulfillment Express in providing direct mail and fulfillment services to both profit and nonprofit clients. She has served as a past chair for both the Greater Boston Postal Customer Council and the New England Chapter of Mailing and Fulfillment Service. Karen still serves on the executive boards of both organizations. Karen worked at Epsilon Data Management prior to starting her business. Pat Ring, Manager, Marketing, Greater Boston District, USPS will discuss the fast changing issues with the USPS, especially for users of bulk mail, with consolidation occurring and the need to understand and use FAST. He’ll also discuss the major change to the Mailpiece Design Resources, the need for mailers to use web resources on the USPS site to get the latest in changes. Pat started his career as a clerk and carrier in the Manchester MA post office in 1973. Since that time he has served in a wide range of jobs including Supervisor and Postmaster at the field level, and at the district level as Manager of Operations Support, Plant Manager, and varying Customer Support jobs. Pat has also served on various projects for the Northeast Area and USPS Headquarters on quality benchmarking, alternate Parcel Delivery, and Business Mail Entry. He is a member of the Greater Boston Postal Customer Council, the founding group for the USPS Executive Mail Center Manager program, and has been a speaker for many years at the College & University Mail Center Managers conferences and at National Postal Forums. Panelist Kevin Gilligan will discuss some of the challenges that are facing marketers today including how to effectively incorporate direct mail in an integrated marketing strategy, new technologies being used in direct mail including; video mailers, dimensional mail and high impact mail and new technologies to drive responders on-line including web keys, Personal URL’s, and QR codes. Kevin Gilligan has worked in the marketing communications field for over 20 years in Sales, Marketing, Strategy and General Management positions. His career has been focused on developing integrated sales and marketing programs for Insurance, Pharmaceutical, Financial Services and Direct Selling organizations. These programs included direct response marketing, on-line marketing portals, digital marketing and high impact direct mail. In 2008 Kevin joined Structural Graphics and has been instrumental in helping the company develop their strategy of providing integrated high impact marketing solutions that help companies improve the ROI of their marketing dollars. Structural Graphics is the leader in providing high impact direct marketing that generates above average response rates. Prior to joining Structural Graphics Kevin served as Vice President Sales and Marketing for Merrill Communications and held various sales and management positions for RR Donnelly companies. Moderator: Mariah Hunt is an industry veteran and Senior Production Manager at Digitas LLC. She is also Vice President, Educational Strategy for the New England Direct Marketing Association. A print production, data processing and lettershop expert, Mariah has helped many clients realize cost efficiencies in the data processing, print and lettershop areas. She is considered a postal expert by her peers. During her career, Mariah has worked with such top name clients as: Monster.com, Crabtree & Evelyn, Toys R US, Shaw’s, Intersystems, AT&T, FedEx, and Metlife. Mariah has won many awards including 1 Gold, and 1 Silver Award for Creative Excellence from NEDMA.
