Human Body Systems Layer Book Project
90 Test Points
In order to build an understanding of human anatomy and physiology you will participate in a
long-term project that will focus on the human body systems. This Book will be graded as a test
and use the rubric provided.
Layer Book Requirements/Information:
1.

The layer book will include a cover page with relevant title along with your name and period.
The layer book will consist of eleven pages, each summarizing a different body system
(please use the order and instructions on the back of this sheet).
a. Each tab on your layer book will include the name of the page’s system.
b. Each page will have text explain the main parts of each system, and their functions.
c. On each page you explain an assigned disease, disorder or medical situation linked to
that system.
c. On each page you will explain how 2 other systems work with the assigned system to
help the body function properly. Your textbook will be used as a guide in helping to
address each correlation, however you will need to think “outside” of the box.
d. Pages will also include at least one drawing/diagram that relates to the body system.
The drawing must be HAND drawn and include all labels. The illustrations to draw
are assigned on the table.
e. Please include a 2 cm x 2 cm space on the lower right hand side of each page (this will
provide a location for your page to be stamped).
The entire project is to be done by hand, including pictures (i.e., computer generated pictures
or font will not be accepted). – DO NOT PLAGERIZE or you will receive a zero.
You will receive a stamp on each page for completion on time. In order to get FULL credit
you will need all 11 stamps!
Your layer book must be of sturdy construction!
Please use appropriate writing mechanics! – TYPE YOUR TEXT!!!
One to two systems will be assigned per week.
The project will be due on _____________________________________.
Your Human Body Systems Layer Book may be used as a reference on your Human
Body Test!
Grading Rubric:
Includes Name, Period, and Attractive Title – 2 points
Each page will receive 8point:
