“Map of Geometry Town” Project 30 points
You are going to create a map of a Geometry town. Your map must include all of the requirements
listed below, a legend, and numbers labeling all of the requirements. It must be colored and neat. The
map must be hand drawn, but you can use computer images to ensure that shapes are congruent.
Requirements:
1. Two streets (lines) must be parallel.
2. A diagonal street (line) must be a transversal of the parallel lines from #1.
3. Two coffee shops at corresponding angles.
4. Two supermarkets at alternate exterior angles.
5. Two gas stations at alternate interior angles.
6. Two streets (lines) must be perpendicular. (please mark the right angle)
7. One street must be a ray.
8. One street must be a line segment.
9. Two streets (segments) must be congruent. (measure with ruler)
10. There must be a “circle” or “roundabout” in the midpoint of one segment.
11. Draw a park inside a right angle with a path acting as an angle bisector. (Measure each half; if
you do not have a protractor, the print one from the internet.)
12. The high school and the middle school must be located at two adjacent supplementary angles.
13. Two schools must be shaped as congruent triangles with sides measured to verify via SSS.
14. A baseball field and soccer field must be at two vertical angles.
15. The hospital must be a pentagon.
16. The library must be an equilateral triangle. (you may use a computer to guarantee) Side
measurements must be shown.
17. The post office must be an isosceles triangle. (measurements to verify)
18. Three houses, each with swimming pools in the shape of: 1 scalene triangle, 1 hexagon, and 1
octagon.
Note: you will need to add more streets than in the required list.
