Tips to aid detoxification process
Coffee
Will feel cravings for
stimulation, coffee is a strong
masker of flagging energies,
and these will now be felt
sometimes making it hard to
concentrate. May feel sad,
depressed or angry as the liver
starts to detoxify. You can also
Feel dizzy, anxious or nervous.
Irritability, insomnia and
Depression can also be a result.
The bowel will become more
lazy due to the lack of morning
peristaltic stimulation, via the
coffee. Headaches (throbbing,
pressure), sickness, nausea
(vomiting) and other such
‘liverish’ side effects are felt.
Reduce the daily number of cups and
gradually decrease the strength of
the coffee. De-caffeinated coffee
can be an immediate crutch, but only
briefly. For energy ‘lows’, through
lack of coffee’s stimulating effects,
Take rosemary tea and prickly ash
tincture until the crisis is over.
Lobelia will help balance and calm
nerves, decreasing overall need.
Rescue Remedy will also help shortterm. Ensure the bowels are moving
daily and that the liver is supported
via liver drinks once or twice a week
Drink plenty of water and herb teas –
dandelion, chamomile and burdock, in
order to flush the body out. St..John’s Wort
will help depression and valerian will aid sleep.
Dance or exercise in some way – this will speed
the release of toxins from the body. Saunas
will help.
Tea
Tea is a stimulant like coffee
but it doesn’t kick the adrenal
glands quite so hard, so in some
ways it’s a little gentler on the
body and the emotions.
Lack of tea will slow downbowel
function to a degree and low
energy will be a problem.
Because tea contains a lot of
tannin, you will gradually benefit
from improved digestion and
iron absorption.
The body wont feel as toxic as when
coming off coffee. Please follow the
suggestions for coffee as many of
them will apply. Try Green Tea for a
greater flavonoid and antioxidant rich
alternative to help flagging energy
once or twice a day. Finally switch to
herbal teas, those that will be stimulative are rosemary, lavender, peppermint, prickly ash – alternate daily.
Alcohol
Vulnerable, craving, depressed,
sad, angry and low. Anxiety,
paranoia and irritability. Fuzzy
-headed and generally emotional
and/or aggressive.
Shaky, low blood sugar due to a
lack of sugar alcohol. The liver
will be reflecting gastrointestinal difficulties. Possible
headaches, nausea (vomiting),
fevers, chills, cramps. Hallucinations and seizures at worst.
Read information on coffee – most of
this will apply. Use St. Johns Wort
herb to help with possible depression.
(Sales of St Johns Wort in Germany
have exceeded Prozac for helping
depression). Milk thistle will help to
Protect the liver cells and encourage
their re-growth. Support nutrition.
Drink Nature’s Harvest or similar
‘superfood’ because heavy drinkers
are used to ‘empty’ calories and
nutritional deficiency is probably
present.
Wheat
Irritability and muddle headedness as the various allergies
manifest from the wheat
intolerance.
Bloating, itching, leaky gut
and candida may manifest and
these have a vast array of
symptoms.
Try sourdough and rye bread, rice,
quinoa, sweet corn (maize), etc
instead of pasta. Read information
on coffee for extra tips.
Sugar
When sugar is taken away, the
level of sugar in the blood drops;
leaving you feeling vulnerable,
weepy, angry and chaotic, depend
-ing on the individual. Hyperactivity and poor concentration
in swings.
Low energy. You might also
suffer black outs if weakness
in the pancreas and spleen is
critical …
Read information on coffee – Use
applicable suggestions. Always keep
blood sugar as balanced as possible;
use liquorice tincture, tea or, chew a
stick and drink Stevia herb tea. Chew
on bitter foods to re-direct taste and
To ‘strengthen’ e.g. dandelion leaves,
dandelion root coffee, olives, chicory
coffee, etc. Support nutritionally to
provide plenty of zinc, vitamins B & C,
chromium, calcium, magnesium, and
amino acid L-Glutamine.
