Work Experience
AngularJS
I have currently completed two commercial projects utilising AngularJS at its core, but due to
the nature of the businesses, both applications are currently not publicly available. Please
contact me for source code examples, and I would be happy to run through the private
repositories on my GitHub account in an interview.
Contract Web Developer, Truphone, London
(03/01/2014 to current)
Working on in-house marketing and sales / analytic tools using AngularJS, vanilla Javascript, and
Symfony2, helping to build tools for the in-house teams. Upon completion of original contract, I
was transferred to a different team due to my previous experience using AngularJS. This team was
creating a skype-like browser application utilising AngularJS, Coffeescript, and Python.
Contract Web Development Architect, wearetwogether, Marlow (29/04/2013 to 23/12/2013)
Working as part of a small team to re-architect a sales and marketing SAAS tool to a second
iteration of the application (www.partnermarketing.com/). Using a variety of technologies, I helped
shape the way the product would work and scale in the future. Using AngularJS as our MV* for the
front-end, Symfony2 as our application logic, and MongoDB as our datastore, we hope to create a
fast, scaleable but ultimately dependable platform, that can be constantly updated and improved via
its SASS origins.
Contract Web developer, Syzygy, London (09/04/2013 to 26/04/2013)
Creating a mobile first promotions tool to generate social media links, via free giveaways of new
products generating facebook, twitter and google likes/tweets/+1’s. Using a bootstrapped base, I
created the frontend to fit onto a .Net application which could generate promotion toolkits.
Front end Developer, BT Fresca, High Wycombe (01/08/2012 to 04/04/2013)
Front end developer working on the firm’s in-house ecommerce platform. Using current trends in
HTML, CSS and Javascript + jQuery, styling both desktop and mobile platforms for high traffic
clients.
Web Developer, fstthegroup, Marlow, (15/05/2010 to 31/07/2012)
Web developer making B2B and B2C websites, web apps, client portals, and digital products. I
introduced version control to maximize efficiency, and managed junior developers.
Web Developer, Binamic, Chalfont St Giles, (09/07/2008 to 03/05/2010)
My core tasks were the creation and maintenance of ongoing websites, multimedia, email
campaigns and E-commerce systems.
Here I learnt and refined my use of the MVC framework CakePHP to optimise my workflow and
created a reusable codebase.
Junior Web Developer, Active Media, Beaconsfield (01/10/2007 to 01/06/2008)
Creating small PHP or straight HTML websites for local businesses, including creating on-brand
banner imagery in Adobe Photoshop.
Project: Dunnes - www.dunnesstores.com
I was tasked as lead front-end engineer to rebuild the Dunnes stores website onto the BTFresca ecommerce platform. This task being my first ever using the Fresca platform, and being given lead
was ultimately very testing of my ability to perceive the larger picture of the website, and best
create re-usable, concise and well-ordered code throughout the website, while overcoming any
technical requirements as required by the specification. A few technologies used in the build were
Jenkins, XML, JSON, JSTL, Java, HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
Project: TTR - www.worldsnowboardtour.com
I was tasked to rebuild an existing snowboarding website with a fresh design and new features.
Extending wordpress to allow for multiple post types (page, blog, media, products etc), allow for
media uploading, and a complex design.
Project: Jolyon Marshall - www.jolyonmarshall.com
This is a bespoke CMS which currently formats to either desktop or mobile depending on the device
used to view the site. A solid design, and a clear brief made this into a well-created website.
Project: Visit Britain Annual Review - www.visitbritainannualreview.org
The client Visit Britain wanted a refresh of an existing website, using mobile and non-flash based
devices. I used cakePHP to build the website backbone, while using the frontend technologies
HTML5, Javascript (jQuery), and my first use of LESS. Using a dynamic stylesheet was something
I had wanted to do, as colour changes, and a structured grid 960 design lent well to this
development language.
