Generations of Computer
The First Generation
The computer manufactured from 1945-1951. The first computer
manufactured in 1946 in USA and called ENIAC (Electronic Numeric
Integrator and Calculator). These computers were made from flip flop.
The computer used the machine language. In this generation, the
computer has big size, low speed, limited of memory capacity and high
heat.
The Second Generation
The computer manufactured from 1952-1960. The computers were
made from transistors. The computer used language easier than the
machine language. In this generation, the size of computer is less than of
first generation, the speed and memory capacity increased from first
generation.
The Third Generation
The computer manufactured from 1961-1969. The computers were
made from small scale integrated circuit (SSIC). The integrated circuit is
micro chip to put the transistors. In this generation, the computer used
special operating system. The size of computer is less than second
generation, and increasing of memory.
The fourth Generation
The computer manufactured in 1970. The computers were made from
large scale integrated circuit (LSIC). The speed of computer is higher
than the previous generations. In 1980, the persons used the personal
computer in universities and offices.
The fifth Generation
The computer manufactured in 1985. The computers were made from
very large scale integrated circuit (VLSIC). The chip has many of
transistors. The speed of computer is higher than the previous
generations. Increasing of memory. In this generation, the hard disk and
floppy disk used to store the information.
