... • Kaparnik stated that an NPN transistor with lower V ₑ₍ ₐ ₎ yielded better results. He tested three transistors: ZTX450 at 73% efficiency, ZTX650 at 79% efficiency, BC550 at 57% efficiency. Mitchell The gain of a transistor is not linear with VCE. At low showed only the BC549 in his schematic.[10] supply ...

How to Compare the Figure Of Merit (FOM) of MOSFETs

... Generally it is possible to take the lowest of the several R(DS)ON values and to multiply it with the lowest given gate charge value. The result would be a number which is nicely low but doesn't say anything about the MOSFET. A sensible comparison of FOMs is only possible if made under the same cond ...

... In the above analysis, an ideal diode model was used. Using a real diode, one must consider the specifications or maximum rating of the diode to ensure that these ratings are not exceeded. First, the forward bias voltage of the diode is VD(ON) = 0.7 V for a silicon diode rather than a short circuit ...

... The small size of ceramic capacitors makes them ideal for AL8806 applications. X5R and X7R types are recommended because they retain their capacitance over wider voltage and temperature ranges than other types such as Z5U. A 2.2μF input capacitor is sufficient for most intended applications of AL880 ...

P–n diode

This article provides a more detailed explanation of p–n diode behavior than that found in the articles p–n junction or diode.A p–n diode is a type of semiconductor diode based upon the p–n junction. The diode conducts current in only one direction, and it is made by joining a p-type semiconducting layer to an n-type semiconducting layer. Semiconductor diodes have multiple uses including rectification of alternating current to direct current, detection of radio signals, emitting light and detecting light.
