The Function of an ECG in Diagnosing Heart Conditions
The Function of an ECG in Diagnosing Heart Conditions

... An ECG test is useful to detect when the heart does not beat in rhythm (arrhythmia). The sequence of contraction in the heart starts with both atria at the same time contracting into the ventricles, followed by both ventricles contracting blood into the body. This order is dependent upon the heart’s ...

Cardiac surgery

Cardiovascular (heart) surgery is surgery on the heart or great vessels performed by cardiac surgeons. Frequently, it is done to treat complications of ischemic heart disease (for example, coronary artery bypass grafting), correct congenital heart disease, or treat valvular heart disease from various causes including endocarditis, rheumatic heart disease and atherosclerosis. It also includes heart transplantation.
