One Size Fits All: Can the Cure for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency X-linked Also Work for SCID due to Adenosine Deaminase Deficiency?

... chromosome, and affects only males. SCID-ADA is an autosomal recessive gene and is caused by the inheritance of two defective ADA genes, one from each parent. The defective ADA gene is the cause of about one-half of autosomal recessive cases of SCID. There are three separate phenotypes coded by the ...

... hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC). HNPCC is often referred to as Lynch syndrome, after the doctor who first described it. It was given this rather long-winded name to distinguish it from another type of hereditary bowel cancer known as familial adenomatous polyposis – FAP where many ...

... pathogenesis [47*]. The primary sequences of the t! syringae Avr proteins reveal little about their potential function, but interestingly, when heterologously expressed in plants, three of them have produced necrosis in test plants lacking the cognate R gene [26,48*,49]. A key question is whether th ...

NEDD9

Neural precursor cell expressed developmentally down-regulated protein 9 (NEDD-9) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NEDD9 gene. NEDD-9 is also known as enhancer of filamentation 1 (EF1), CRK-associated substrate-related protein (CAS-L), and Cas scaffolding protein family member 2 (CASS2). An important paralog of this gene is BCAR1.
