Traction Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Torque Control with
Traction Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Torque Control with

... The flux weakening control of a traction drive is desirable. It is common for traction drives with asynchronous motors as well as for dc motors. Although it causes other problems, the flux weakening is unavoidable also for PMSM. A point of flux weakening is suppressing of back emf in high speed of d ...

... For the simulation of pre-arcing process: • Only the heavy and general short-circuit is considered, the pre-arcing time is short, the temperature change of connecting terminals, the heat transfer and emission from fuse link to air are ignored; • Due to the extremely short time-interval from melting ...

... AC Motor Drives The present-day industry categorizes AC motor drives in two distinct categories: induction motor drives and permanent-magnet AC motor drives. The basic difference between the two types of drives is performance and cost. Induction motors are still the workhorse of today’s industry. Ap ...

... We see this by applying the right hand grip rule for the field around a wire. If we wrap our right hand around a wire with the thumb pointing in the direction of the current, the curl of the fingers shows how the field behaves. Since we are dealing with a long solenoid, all of the components of the ...

Electric machine

The academic study of electric machines is the universal study of electric motors and electric generators. By the classic definition, electric machine is synonymous with electric motor or electric generator, all of which are electromechanical energy converters: converting electricity to mechanical power (i.e., electric motor) or mechanical power to electricity (i.e., electric generator). The movement involved in the mechanical power can be rotating or linear.Although transformers do not contain any moving parts they are also included in the family of electric machines because they utilise electromagnetic phenomena.Electric machines (i.e., electric motors) consume approximately 60% of all electricity produced. Electric machines (i.e., electric generators) produce virtually all electricity consumed. Electric machines have become so ubiquitous that they are virtually overlooked as an integral component of the entire electricity infrastructure. Developing ever more efficient electric machine technology and influencing their use are crucial to any global conservation, green energy, or alternative energy strategy.
