A LINK BETWEEN TRADITIONAL AND MODERN TECHNIQUES IN THE

... The evolution of the electronics components and the use of high resolution analog to digital converters (ADCs) or digital to analog converters (DACs) have opened the possibility for the construction of modern precise instruments (over 6 digits), operating in a frequency range from 10 Hz to 100 kHz a ...

Using Trench Power MOSFETs in Linear Mode

... mode may not be top of the priority list. Yet there are multiple uses for Trench Power MOSFETs in linear mode. In fact, even turning the device on and off in switching applications is a form of linear operation. Also, these components can be run in linear mode to protect the device against voltage s ...

Electrical ballast

An electrical ballast is a device intended to limit the amount of current in an electric circuit. A familiar and widely used example is the inductive ballast used in fluorescent lamps, to limit the current through the tube, which would otherwise rise to destructive levels due to the tube's negative resistance characteristic.Ballasts vary in design complexity. They can be as simple as a series resistor or inductor, capacitors, or a combination thereof or as complex as electronic ballasts used with fluorescent lamps and high-intensity discharge lamps.
