Lecture 32: Common Source Amplifier with Source
Lecture 32: Common Source Amplifier with Source

... place an AC ground at the input of the current source, thus removing the effects of the current source from the AC operation of the amplifier. We have a choice of small-signal models to use for the MOSFET. A T model will simplify the analysis, on one hand, by allowing us to incorporate the effects o ...

When the detector senses a fire, it will switch into the alarm condition with it's LED illuminated, and will collapse the line voltage by drawing a larger current - dependant ...
Choosing an Appropriate Pull-up/Pull-down
Choosing an Appropriate Pull-up/Pull-down

... The first thing to recognize when dealing with an open drain output is whether a pull-up or a pull-down resistor is needed. This depends on whether the IC drives the output high or low when it wants to assert it. For example, the TPS62067 step-down converter has a PG output that it drives low if the ...

Electrical ballast

An electrical ballast is a device intended to limit the amount of current in an electric circuit. A familiar and widely used example is the inductive ballast used in fluorescent lamps, to limit the current through the tube, which would otherwise rise to destructive levels due to the tube's negative resistance characteristic.Ballasts vary in design complexity. They can be as simple as a series resistor or inductor, capacitors, or a combination thereof or as complex as electronic ballasts used with fluorescent lamps and high-intensity discharge lamps.
