... interactions alone. It was demonstrated [41] that the dipoledipole calculations with the retarded fields result in the same exciton polaritons as arising from the more familiar treatment [31,37] of the interaction of Coulomb excitons with transverse photons [see a schematic picture in Fig. 1(c)]. Si ...

... Forty-Gb/s optical modulators require an electrical-to-optical (E/O) bandwidth of over 30 GHz. However, there is a tradeoff between the E/O bandwidth and drive voltage, both of which depend on the parameters of the CPW electrodes. Conventionally, CPW electrodes with a narrow gap and short interactio ...

Another way to reduce drift that is often employed in optical trapping setups is to move the system of interest away from any surface subject to significant drift. This could be done by using a dual-tr ...

Ultrafast laser spectroscopy

Ultrafast laser spectroscopy is a spectroscopic technique that uses ultrashort pulse lasers for the study of dynamics on extremely short time scales (attoseconds to nanoseconds). Different methods are used to examine dynamics of charge carriers, atoms and molecules. Many different procedures have been developed spanning different time scales and photon energy ranges; some common methods are listed below.
