Creasing to Cratering Instability in Polymers under Ultrahigh Electric
Creasing to Cratering Instability in Polymers under Ultrahigh Electric

... The experimental results prove that the critical field for the electrocreasing instability is scaled as Eq. (3). When the electric field reaches certain value higher than Ec , the crater has the same energy as the crease, and a pattern of coexistent creases and craters sets in [Fig. 2(d)]. As the el ...

... discussion of diffraction from a circular aperture is usually presented with a discussion of Rayleigh’s criterion, which simply states that two point sources will be just resolved if the central maximum of the first light source falls beyond the first minimum of the second light source.6 Typical hom ...

The presentation can no longer be in terms of correlating this Universal Physics to physical laws, rather, the correlation must now be directly to experimental data, to the underlying natural behavior, obser ...

The Cloud Chamber Experiment - University of Toronto Physics

... Shielding the surroundings from radioactive particles is obviously big business and quite important to many industries. In this experiment, you should use Equation 1 with several materials to determine how much energy is lost by the particles produced from several sources. It is worth noting that al ...

Analytical Expression for the Standing Wave Intensity in Photoresist

... When a thin dielectric film placed between two semi-infinite media (e.g., a thin coating on a reflecting substrate) is exposed to monochromatic light, standing waves are produced in the film. This effect has been well documented for such cases as antireflection coatings and photoresist exposure.1-5 ...

Growth of silicene on Ag(111) studied with low energy electron

In an ideal situation the objective lens and the beam separator would be enough to image samples. However, in reality abe ...

Thomas Young (scientist)

Thomas Young (13 June 1773 – 10 May 1829) was an English polymath and physician. Young made notable scientific contributions to the fields of vision, light, solid mechanics, energy, physiology, language, musical harmony, and Egyptology. He ""made a number of original and insightful innovations""in the decipherment of Egyptian hieroglyphs (specifically the Rosetta Stone) before Jean-François Champollion eventually expanded on his work. He was mentioned by, among others, William Herschel, Hermann von Helmholtz, James Clerk Maxwell, and Albert Einstein. Young has been described as ""The Last Man Who Knew Everything"".
