... Abstract—For improvement of power quality (PQ) problems in a three-phase distribution system, two topologies are proposed. Electric arc furnaces (EAFs) are a main cause of voltage flicker due to the interaction of the high demand currents of the loads with the supply system impedance. In order to ad ...

... To effect constant-current trickle charging for any load below VT (including a short circuit), a simple LM317L regulator configured as a 25mA constant current source fed from pin 11 is employed. Pin 11 is derived from the main positive supply and can thus rise much higher than VT to take up the vol ...

... This paper presents a transceiver for fast and energy-efficient global on-chip communication, consisting of a nonlinear charge-injecting (CI) 3-tap transmit filter (TX) and a sampling receiver (RX) with transimpedance pre-amplifier (TIA). Recently, pre-emphasis techniques [1-4] have demonstrated sig ...

... Burst Mode Operation Connecting the SYNC/MODE pin to a voltage in the range of 0V to 1V enables Burst Mode operation. In Burst Mode operation, the internal power MOSFETs operate intermittently at light loads. This increases efficiency by minimizing switching losses. During Burst Mode operation, the ...

... This more “single-ended” output stage showed a more pure second harmonic type distortion than the more “push-pull” output stage, which contained more third and higher harmonics. This was not a completely apples-to-apples comparison, though, as increasing R5 also had the effect of slightly increasing ...

5 Numerical Simulation of Electrical Transients

... Switching actions, short-circuits, lightning strokes, and disturbances during normal operation often cause temporary overvoltages and high frequency current oscillations. The power system must be able to withstand the overvoltages without damage to the system components. The simulation of transient ...

Chapter 1 What makes circuits electrical
Chapter 1 What makes circuits electrical

... Incandescent light bulbs are one way to create light with electricity. As of 2015, incandescents are rapidly being replaced by LEDs, which last much longer, are more robust, and use far less electrical energy for the same light output. However, incandescents are conceptually much simpler, so we’ll c ...

Voltage optimisation

Voltage optimisation is a term given to the systematic controlled reduction in the voltages received by an energy consumer to reduce energy use, power demand and reactive power demand. While some voltage 'optimisation' devices have a fixed voltage adjustment, others electronically regulate the voltage automatically.Voltage optimisation systems are typically installed in series with the mains electrical supply to a building, allowing all its electrical equipment to benefit from an optimised supply.
