Photovoltaic Power Systems
Photovoltaic Power Systems

... In general, PV materials are categorized as either crystalline or thin film, and they are judged on two basic factors: efficiency and economics. For remote installations where the actual space available for PV panels is often quite limited, the greater conversion efficiency of crystalline technology ...

... currents”…….i.e. the fact that the LEDs that you will have to use will be significantly more expensive, and since the LEDs are typically amongst the most expensive (component) items in a LED product, such extra expense is not welcome. ... As can be seen from Figure 2-3, in the valence band two relations between the energy E and the wave-number k exist. The maxima are at k = 0 and equally high (properly stated, equally low) for holes. In fact there is even a third relation (not shown in Fig. 3.3), but that has a maximum little bit low ...

... Let’s try a simple experiment just to prove that these things work the way we’re saying they do. First, we’re going to hook up some 10kΩ resistors in series and watch them add in a most unmysterious way. Using a breadboard, place one 10kΩ resistor as indicated in the figure andmeasure with a multime ...

Opto-isolator

In electronics, an opto-isolator, also called an optocoupler, photocoupler, or optical isolator, is a component that transfers electrical signals between two isolated circuits by using light. Opto-isolators prevent high voltages from affecting the system receiving the signal. Commercially available opto-isolators withstand input-to-output voltages up to 10 kV and voltage transients with speeds up to 10 kV/μs.A common type of opto-isolator consists of an LED and a phototransistor in the same opaque package. Other types of source-sensor combinations include LED-photodiode, LED-LASCR, and lamp-photoresistor pairs. Usually opto-isolators transfer digital (on-off) signals, but some techniques allow them to be used with analog signals.
