... In each case, the result—of course—depends on amplifier parameters ( Avo , Zin , Zout ). However, the results likewise depend on the devices (source and load) attached to the amplifier (e.g., L1 , R1 , L2 , R2 ).  The only amplifier voltage gain is its open-circuit voltage gain Avo ! Now, let’s swi ...

... The EMF can also be sensed directly, rather than be simulated as in the V-I control setup, when the current IM is zero (EMF = VM-IM.RM). To achieve this the motor current must be switched off as quickly as possible. Motor inductance represents an obstacle since the energy it stores must first be dis ...

... A switch is a simple device which has moveable metal contacts designed to complete the circuit, when in one position, and disconnect the circuit when in the other position. Some modern switching accessories are ‘smarter’ than this and can actually adjust the amount of light from a lamp. Switches com ...

... In this project, the code was written in C. It sets up the pins on the microcontroller as inputs and outputs. It sets the bits to have an analog-to-digital converter that has the following properties. It uses the voltage reference of AVcc with an external capacitor (which reduces the unwanted noise) ...

Electrical switches. Top, left to right: circuit breaker

... Switches are classified according to the arrangement of their contacts in electronics. A pair of contacts is said to be "closed" when current can flow from one to the other. When the contacts are separated by an insulating air gap, they are said to be "open", and no current can flow between them at ...

Buck converter

A buck converter is a voltage step down and current step up converter. The simplest way to reduce the voltage of a DC supply is to use a linear regulator (such as a 7805), but linear regulators waste energy as they operate by dissipating excess power as heat. Buck converters, on the other hand, can be remarkably efficient (95% or higher for integrated circuits), making them useful for tasks such as converting the main voltage in a computer (12V in a desktop, 12-24V in a laptop) down to the 0.8-1.8V needed by the processor.
