... insight for switch design and has been previously shown to closely match experimental results [9-11]. In order to further corroborate this model, we will present measured results from fabricated cantilever beams in Section II.C. Using this simplified model, the dynamics of the motion of the gate can ...

Automation of a Particle Accelerator Operation Using LabVIEW

... We will now briefly explain the functioning of a Van de Graaff type particle accelerator (Fig. 2). The accelerating voltage on the terminal is created with a rotating belt that physically transports electrons from one end to the other [3],[5]. They are deposited onto de belt in one end and removed f ...

Design optimizations of phase noise, power consumption and

... Wireless communication systems including wireless sensor networks lead to a huge market of RF CMOS circuits, and the circuits with less power consumption are more competitive. The Zigbee transceiver aims at low power applications, whose operation frequency range is 2.4–2.485 GHz. The voltage control ...

... For a given signal voltage this power will be maximised if RS = Z I . As a result we should usually try to equate (match) these impedances whenever it is convenient to do so. A similar result arises when we connect amplifiers together. Each amplifier views the preceding one as a source having a part ...

Buck converter

A buck converter is a voltage step down and current step up converter. The simplest way to reduce the voltage of a DC supply is to use a linear regulator (such as a 7805), but linear regulators waste energy as they operate by dissipating excess power as heat. Buck converters, on the other hand, can be remarkably efficient (95% or higher for integrated circuits), making them useful for tasks such as converting the main voltage in a computer (12V in a desktop, 12-24V in a laptop) down to the 0.8-1.8V needed by the processor.
