... due to inherent noise in the circuit, the flip-flop eventually exits the metastable state. This delay in exiting the metastable region is sometimes, however, sufficient for a system to crash. The possibility of flip-flops entering a metastable state is high in an asynchronous system whose inputs do ...

... switch 1 may, for example, consist of a conventional LAN switch or hub. Ordinarily, this device would be directly connected to a patch panel, such as patch panel or punch down block 3, and from there be connected to a computer device. In FIG. 1, the LAN switch 1 is connected from a typical network p ...

... Precautions should be taken when making this test on current transformers to prevent core magnetization from occurring due to the direct current. Window or bar type units with low current ratings (400 ampere and down) are particularly susceptible to this residual magnetism. It is a best practice to ...

Mojotone Tweed Champ Style Amp Kit

... If you need to service the amp after having it on, you must “discharge” the capacitors. This is done by unplugging the amp, turning the power and standby to the on position and letting it sit for 30 mins. or so. If you do not have a standby switch, you will need to short the capacitor positive leads ...

Buck converter

A buck converter is a voltage step down and current step up converter. The simplest way to reduce the voltage of a DC supply is to use a linear regulator (such as a 7805), but linear regulators waste energy as they operate by dissipating excess power as heat. Buck converters, on the other hand, can be remarkably efficient (95% or higher for integrated circuits), making them useful for tasks such as converting the main voltage in a computer (12V in a desktop, 12-24V in a laptop) down to the 0.8-1.8V needed by the processor.
