SINUSOIDAL PWM CONTROLLER OF VOLTAGE SOURCE
SINUSOIDAL PWM CONTROLLER OF VOLTAGE SOURCE

... 2.2 PULSE WIDTH MODULATION (PWM) •Due to advances in solid state power devices, switching power converters are used in more and more modern motor drives to convert and deliver the required energy to the motor. The energy that a switching power converter delivers to a motor is controlled by Pulse Wid ...

... How long an object remains electrically charged depends on how easily the excess electrons can find their way back to the excess protons. Some materials, such as metals, allow electrons to move through them quite readily, while other materials, such as paper, plastic, and dry air, offer quite a bit of ...

... Transistor M2 functions as a resistance, 1/gm2, as does the identical transistor, M2a. The gate aspect ratio of M1 is 100-times larger than that of M2, whence gm1/gm2 = 10 owing to the square root dependence of transconductance on gate aspect ratio. Note further that M3 and M3a, which are terminated ...

Buck converter

A buck converter is a voltage step down and current step up converter. The simplest way to reduce the voltage of a DC supply is to use a linear regulator (such as a 7805), but linear regulators waste energy as they operate by dissipating excess power as heat. Buck converters, on the other hand, can be remarkably efficient (95% or higher for integrated circuits), making them useful for tasks such as converting the main voltage in a computer (12V in a desktop, 12-24V in a laptop) down to the 0.8-1.8V needed by the processor.
