... All the other voltages are also increased the same amount (Vgs , Vds , and Vts voltage values does not change). This process will be call from now on as voltage ramping. To get the high currents for injection, the drain voltage (Vd ) is then pulsed to a lower voltage for a certain amount of time (tp ...

... The ability to detect a short from the load to ground is an important differentiation between low-side and high-side sensing. When using low-side sensing should a short occur between the system load and ground the current that flows from the bus voltage source to ground (via the short) and will not ...

... C. Selection of Battery Since the battery is an energy storage unit, its energy is represented in kilowatt-hours (kWh). As required Vdc is more than 376V, therefore the minimum battery rack voltage should be 432V. A battery rack with capacity of 3 kWh is used for energy storage. For the DC bus volta ...

... a. Study the chip layout of Fig. 3. The standard procedure on DIP (dual in-line package) “chips” is to identify pin 1 with a notch in the end of the chip package. The notch always separates pin 1 from the last pin on the chip. In the case of the 741, the notch is between pins 1 and 8. Pin 2 is the ...

... The main reason that the traditional class-D amplifier needs an output filter is that the switching waveform results in maximum current flow. This causes more loss in the load, which causes lower efficiency. The ripple current is large for the traditional modulation scheme because the ripple current ...

Buck converter

A buck converter is a voltage step down and current step up converter. The simplest way to reduce the voltage of a DC supply is to use a linear regulator (such as a 7805), but linear regulators waste energy as they operate by dissipating excess power as heat. Buck converters, on the other hand, can be remarkably efficient (95% or higher for integrated circuits), making them useful for tasks such as converting the main voltage in a computer (12V in a desktop, 12-24V in a laptop) down to the 0.8-1.8V needed by the processor.
