... Algebra is used to express rules using symbols. A letter is used to stand for a number. The letter is placed into a formula to explain what happens. e.g. Write the following as a mathematical expression: The sum of all the angles in a polygon is calculated by subtracting two from the number of side ...

For instance, y = 2x – 1 can be defined parametrically as x = t, y = 2t – 1, but if t goes from [-10, 10], we would only see a plot of a segment from (-10, -21) to (10, 19). 4. Determine parametric equations to plot the right half of the parabola y = (x – 2)2. Gr ...

After all, halving and ignoring the fractional part is even easier: it’s just a matter of shifting the bits to the right, and it doesn’t matter what the computer does with the discarded bit (as long as it doesn’t put it back into the original byte or word in the most significant bit or th ...

Mathematics of radio engineering

The mathematics of radio engineering is the mathematical description by complex analysis of the electromagnetic theory applied to radio. Waves have been studied since ancient times and many different techniques have developed of which the most useful idea is the superposition principle which apply to radio waves. The Huygen's principle, which says that each wavefront creates an infinite number of new wavefronts that can be added, is the base for this analysis.
