... Every particle (massive or massless2 ) is subject to gravitational interaction. Particles that are electrically charged experience electromagnetic interaction. There are two more interactions responsible for happenings in the domain of elementary particles, namely the strong interaction responsible ...

This collision changes the velocity of the second particle, just as if there had been a force between the two matter particles. It is an important property of ' the force-carrying particles that they do not obey ...

A recent ‘beam splitting’ experiment at the LCLS [1] apparently demonstrated that after a microbunched electron beam is kicked on a large angle compared to the divergence of FEL radiation pulses, the microbunching wave front is readjusted along the new direction of motion of the kicked beam. For the same reason, the neutrino-proton correlation a has also received recent attention. Less interest has been paid to the neutrino-spin correlation B, w ...

... 5. How can electrons pair if they are negatively charged? Since electrons are negatively charged they repel each other, so for electrons to get closer together (to form what is known as cooper pairs) there needs to be a positive electric charge that they are attracted to. DESY

The Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (english German Electron Synchrotron) commonly referred to by the abbreviation DESY, is a national research center in Germany that operates particle accelerators used to investigate the structure of matter. It conducts a broad spectrum of inter-disciplinary scientific research in three main areas: particle and high energy physics; photon science; and the development, construction and operation of particle accelerators. Its name refers to its first project, an electron synchrotron. DESY is publicly financed by the Federal Republic of Germany, the States of Germany, and the German Research Foundation (DFG). DESY is a member of the Helmholtz Association and operates at sites in Hamburg and Zeuthen.
