Cohabitation promotes high diversity of clownfishes in the Coral
Cohabitation promotes high diversity of clownfishes in the Coral

... Through mechanisms such as niche differentiation [3], including social and behavioural specializations [4] and resource partitioning (e.g. space and habitat use), coexistence of different species can occur [5]. Despite extensive studies into the variation in physiological, morphological and demograp ...

In the absence of negative interactions with other guilds, we show that high rates of control by flying insects occur in complex landscapes (6, 24), in agreement with their frequently higher densities in comple ...

... Ecological communities are typically open to the immigration and emigration of individuals, and also variable through time. In this paper we argue that interesting and potentially important effects arise when one splices together spatial fluxes and temporal variability. The particular system we exami ...

Darwin [5] proposed that competition should be strongest between close relatives because they share with each other more traits that influence species interactions, such as habitat use, the types of resources consumed and potential shared predators. observations on the ecology of the endemic mearns`s squirrel

... Our observations suggest the need for research into several aspects of the ecology of T. mearnsi. The significance of the lack of middens and leaf nests must be assessed to elucidate important selective pressures faced by Mearns’s squirrels. Because these conspicuous signs of squirrel presence are n ...

Habitat conservation

Habitat conservation is a land management practice that seeks to conserve, protect and restore habitat areas for wild plants and animals, especially conservation reliant species, and prevent their extinction, fragmentation or reduction in range. It is a priority of many groups that cannot be easily characterized in terms of any one ideology.
