... The Elevation of the North Pole Star The north pole star is always at an elevation, or altitude, a, above the northern horizon, that is equal to the latitude, of the observer. Circumpolar stars are stars which are always in view. They never set below the horizon. All stars with declinations  ...

Spectroscopic Investigation of Companion Stars in Herbig

... Herbig AeBe (HAEBE) binary systems are good environments for the study of pre-main sequence stellar evolution in companion stars whose mass may be significantly lower than that of the primary star. Measurements of the spectral type and surface gravity of the companion star in the system allow it to ...

Characteristics of the Sun

... However, compared with other stars, the Sun is rather ordinary. It is about in the middle of the ranges for star size and brightness. Many of the stars that you can see in the night sky are actually bigger and brighter than the Sun—they only appear smaller because they are much farther away. Howeve ...

Thus we make two approximations for the surface boundary conditions: ρM=M, ρ = 0 kg/m3 and T = 0K at r=rs i.e. that the star does have a sharp boundary with the surrounding v ...

The Magnitude System

... Magnitudes have to be somehow related to the brightness of stars. And brightness is a measure of the total number of photons of energy E that are emitted from the star per second and that pass though the area of our detectors. Aquarius (constellation)

Aquarius is a constellation of the zodiac, situated between Capricornus and Pisces. Its name is Latin for ""water-carrier"" or ""cup-carrier"", and its symbol is 20px (Unicode ♒), a representation of water.Aquarius is one of the oldest of the recognized constellations along the zodiac (the sun's apparent path). It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century AD astronomer Ptolemy, and it remains one of the 88 modern constellations. It is found in a region often called the Sea due to its profusion of constellations with watery associations such as Cetus the whale, Pisces the fish, and Eridanus the river.
