Chapter 03Elec Circuits

... An electric circuit is the complete path of an electric current, along with any necessary elements, such as power source and a load. When the circuit is complete so that the current can flow, it is termed closed. When the path of the current flow is interrupted, the circuit is termed open. All elect ...

... When applying equation (2.2) to the circuit of Figure 4.8(b) it is evident that the magnitude of the current can be scaled by scaling the device size. The required reference current has to be half the magnitude, which implies the WIL ratio has to be half of that of the cell devices. The width cannot ...

Valve RF amplifier

A valve RF amplifier (UK and Aus.) or tube amplifier (U.S.), is a device for electrically amplifying the power of an electrical radio frequency signal.Low to medium power valve amplifiers for frequencies below the microwaves were largely replaced by solid state amplifiers during the 1960s and 1970s, initially for receivers and low power stages of transmitters, transmitter output stages switching to transistors somewhat later. Specially constructed valves are still in use for very high power transmitters, although rarely in new designs.
