Experimental Demonstration of Tripartite Entanglement - ENS-phys
Experimental Demonstration of Tripartite Entanglement - ENS-phys

... Quantum entanglement shared by more than two parties is the essential base for developing quantum communication networks and quantum computation. The three-particle entangled states for discrete variables, also called Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states, have been proposed [1] and then experime ...

... group law is polynomial, the product map G × G → G becomes under the correspondence an algebra homomorphism ∆ going the other way. Likewise for the rest of the Hopf algebra structure. Two examples are as follows. The “affine line” is described by the coordinate algebra k[x] (polynomials in one varia ...

... configuration space of the N particles. (For particles with spin, one need only consider Ψt as instead being the appropriate N-particle spinor, obeying instead of equation (1.1) the appropriate wave equation, and then interpret the numerator and denominator of the right-hand side of equation (1.2) a ...

... – The PEPS ansatz maps the quantum Hamiltonian to a state corresponding to a partition function in 2 dimensions (2+0) – The properties of such a state are described by a (1+1) dimensional theory (eigenvectors of transfer matrices) – Those eigenvectors are well described by MPS – Properties of MPS ar ...

... to yield the entropy. Both string theory and quantum general relativity have provided partial answers; the fundamental entities can there be D-branes or spin networks [2]. The picture is, however, far from being complete. In fact, one suffers from an embarrassment of riches, as Steven Carlip has cal ...

... principle (discussed in detail in Sec. 3) is that no state preparation procedure is possible which would yield an ensemble of systems identical in all of their observable properties. Thus it is most natural to assert that a quantum state represents an ensemble of similarily prepa, red systems, but d ...

Finite temperature correlations of the Ising chain in transverse field
Finite temperature correlations of the Ising chain in transverse field

... III of Fig 1. The ease with which (26) was obtained belies its remarkable nature. Notice that we are working in a closed Hamiltonian system, evolving unitarily in time with the operator e−iHI t/h̄ , from an initial density matrix given by the Gibbs ensemble at a temperature T . Yet, we have obtained ...

... The fundamental units of QIP are qubits, the quantum generalizations of classical bits. A qubit's state space consists of all superpositions aj0i ‡ bj1i …jaj2 ‡ jbj2 ˆ 1† of the basic states |0i and |1i. A set of qubits can be realized by independent two-state subsystems of a physical system. Bosoni ...

... Ask not if quantum mechanics is true, ask rather what the theory implies. What does realism about the quantum state imply? What follows then, when quantum theory is applied without restriction, if need be to the whole universe? This is the question that this book addresses. The answers vary widely. ...

Orchestrated objective reduction

Orchestrated objective reduction (Orch-OR) is a hypothesis that consciousness in the brain originates from processes inside neurons, rather than from connections between neurons as in the conventional view. The mechanism is held to be a quantum physics process called objective reduction which is orchestrated by molecular structures called microtubules. The hypothesis, which was put forward in the early 1990s by theoretical physicist Roger Penrose and anaesthesiologist and psychologist Stuart Hameroff, has so far been rejected by the majority of cognitive scientists.
