... On the electrical bill energy is measured in “kilowatt-hours.” One KWH means that 1000 Watts was used for 1 hour (or 2000 Watts for ½ hour, etc). (note “kilo” means “1000”) The reason that energy is interesting is that the total amount of energy in the universe never changes. When energy moves from ...

Maximum Output Current: Voltage amplifiers are designed to amplify

... Maximum Output Current: Voltage amplifiers are designed to amplify the voltage and not the current. However, nothing prevents a user to attach a small load to the output, drawing a large current. As the load resistance is decreased, the output current of amplifier is increased. At the certain output ...

Audio power

Audio power is the electrical power transferred from an audio amplifier to a loudspeaker, measured in watts. The electrical power delivered to the loudspeaker, together with its sensitivity, determines the sound power level generated (with the rest being converted to heat).Amplifiers are limited in the electrical energy they can amplify, while loudspeakers are limited in the electrical energy they can convert to sound energy without distorting the audio signal or being damaged. These power ratings are important to consumers finding compatible products and comparing competitors.
