... DECIBEL level will represent a specific amount of power. In other words, 3 dB would be 2 mW, 10 dB would be 10 mW, etc. This is commonly done, and if the reference power is 1 mW, the measured quantity is in dBm; dBm = 10 log (P1/0.001) W. The reference power could be any value, and sometimes differe ...

Indeed, when dBmV is used to describe signal levels, it technically is an expression of power in terms of voltage. Why does the decibel even come into play when dealing with signal levels? Quite s ...

... Find the frequency at which the greatest value of v max occurs. Note: You first have to take the derivative of x(t) with respect to t to find v(t) and thus v max, then take the derivative of v max with respect to ω, which is messy. I suggest that you use Maple to do the derivative with respect to ω. ...

Audio power

Audio power is the electrical power transferred from an audio amplifier to a loudspeaker, measured in watts. The electrical power delivered to the loudspeaker, together with its sensitivity, determines the sound power level generated (with the rest being converted to heat).Amplifiers are limited in the electrical energy they can amplify, while loudspeakers are limited in the electrical energy they can convert to sound energy without distorting the audio signal or being damaged. These power ratings are important to consumers finding compatible products and comparing competitors.
