... that reference. Decibels are literally a tenth of a Bel. So dB becomes 10 log (P2 / Pref) Where Pref is the reference power and P2 is the power you are comparing against that reference. Decibels are dimensionless units; they only have meaning when you specify a reference. Some specific reference sta ...

... Multiple power domain demands multiple power grid structure and a suitable power distribution among them. For a larger ASIC/SoC more careful floor planning and power planning is essential. The speed in which different power domains switch on or off is also important. A low voltage power domain may a ...

This means, start at the current voltage and charge up 90% of the voltage difference (it is defined this way to make the general equation tractable). Assuming the effective resistance of an ‘ON’ transistor is R, consider again the two ...

... Sound intensity or sound pressure level (SPL) is also specified in dB. In this case, the reference level of 0 dB corresponds to a pressure of 0.0002 microbars which is the standard threshold for being able to hear a sound. As the sounds get louder, the value of SPL in dB also increases, indicating a ...

With no active VSWR protection, an open circuit at the load would result in a doubling of the output voltage to 141.4Vrms, while a short circuit would increase the output current to 2.82Arms. In either of these worst case scenarios, the 100 watt power amplifier m ...

... Load regulation of a FPS is provided by the use of a shunt magnetic path which has an air gap between it and the main EI lamination. The air gap is used to limit the flux in the shunt portion of the FPS and therefore preventing the magnetic saturation. In short it forms a "closed loop" whereby the f ...

Audio power

Audio power is the electrical power transferred from an audio amplifier to a loudspeaker, measured in watts. The electrical power delivered to the loudspeaker, together with its sensitivity, determines the sound power level generated (with the rest being converted to heat).Amplifiers are limited in the electrical energy they can amplify, while loudspeakers are limited in the electrical energy they can convert to sound energy without distorting the audio signal or being damaged. These power ratings are important to consumers finding compatible products and comparing competitors.
